Adie and I met back in March of 2006 during the week of St. Patrick's Day (Adie can tell you the exact date....). Our first date was at the West Street Grill bar in Downtown Crossing in Boston. Since that fateful night, we were destined to be.
Eventually, we entertained the idea about our future together. Growing up, Adie's dream wedding was to get married on top of the hill behind her parents' home in Vermont on a snowy day.
On Valentine's Day of 2007, a major nor'easter dumped about two feet of snow in Vermont. I decided right there and then to just go for it. I knew that she was The One, so I figured if she wanted to have her dream wedding, it was now or never. I proposed in the walk-in closet of our new apartment (her favorite room) in Waltham in the middle of our move! As you know, she said YES!
On Saturday, February 22, 2007, a snowshoe wedding in Quechee, Vermont was held. There were 2 feet of snow on the ground, clear blue skies and not a single breeze in the air. Our parents, sisters and Adie's best friend, Rachael attended the ceremony. A local Justice of the Peace married us.
Some people thought she was pregnant. Some thought we were just plain crazy! Adie and I have never been into following tradition, and this was how we wanted it. In any event, it was the most original and unique wedding ever--and we're very proud of it.
Consequently, we received many phone calls and emails from friends and family who were confused--and rightly so. After a long and hard discussion, we decided to throw a party for everyone in honor of our marriage.
We wanted something that was community oriented, which involved a lot of our friends and family members to help organize this party. We also wanted to stick with the whole winter theme as well. After six months of long and hard preparation, we coordinated a party that was very unique and original.
Adrienne's best friend, Rachael helped us choose the Dartmouth Skiway in New Hampshire (about 2.5 hours from Boston). The view, the area, and everything else about that place was just absolutely perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better location.
The wedding reception was on Sept. 29th, 2007. About 100 people came to our party. We incorporated a lot of other people's talents in order to make the reception as community-oriented as possible. Sue whipped up her famous antipasto as a main appetizer, Torre spend hours preparing h'ourderves, Jeff and Torre designed the canvas bags that we gave as favors, Mike and Mr. Chang took a slew of photos, Alexis baked a delicious wedding cake, and an army of cupcakes, Catlin designed the beautiful fall-themed centerpieces, Mimi created her famous bookmarks for guests in honor of our first wedding.

Since then, we've been busy keeping up with our careers.
I work as a Development Coordinator, assisting fundraising for a local non-profit organization called Tenacity. Adie works as an office administrator at the Newton Rehab Clinic while working on her Business degree at Emmanuel College. We have a small cat named Roxie. She's a furry little black cat that Adie brought over from her old apartment. Even though Roxie's only three, she has asthma, a heart murmur and an enlarged heart... but we love her to death.
We're currently very happy with where we are in life. Things have just sort of worked out for us. But we both know that our life together has just begun. We hope to fill this blog with many more happy blogs as possible.
